CERAMIC VENEERS

Veneers

Ceramic veneers are the ideal solution for patients who want a “Hollywood White Smile”. These are thin transparent porcelain sheets that stick to the outside of the tooth. They can be achieved by changing the color, shape, size and position of the teeth.

Fasets or Veneers are one of the most common solutions in modern esthetic dentistry. They are a minimally invasive procedure, because healthy dental tissue is maximally preserved.

WHAT ARE THE FASETS?

A veneer is a thin ceramic (porcelain) flake 0.4 to 0.7 millimeters thick. They are placed on the front surface of the teeth giving them perfect shape and whiteness. Because of all the qualities, veneers are also the most common and most expensive cosmetic dentistry procedure in the world.

 WHOM THE VENEERS RECOMMEND?

The veneers are indicated when the patient has natural teeth and wants to change the color, shape, or position of the teeth. With veneers, the problem of space between the teeth (diastema) is ideally solved. It is also recommended for patients who have worn or darkened, small or irregularly arranged teeth.

They can be done by men and women of all ages, with the prerequisite that the veneer be placed on a natural tooth.

HOW THE PROCEDURE LOOKS?

After the first inspection, a fork print is taken and a test wax model is made. Based on that model, the dentist temporarily sets the patient the appearance of a future composite veneer so that the patient has an insight into what his future veneer will look like.

The dentist and patient are then consulted about the aesthetic details based on the set model. When both are satisfied, based on the ideally placed model, grinding is done as a preparation for the veneer. Depending on the position of the tooth, it is sometimes necessary to have minimal or even no brushing at all. In the case of grinding, it engages 0.5 millimeters from the surface of the tooth, reaches only to the enamel and does not reach deeper layers of firm dental tissue.

After grinding the tooth, the temporary composite layer remains and serves as a protection for the tooth. On the next visit to the doctor, a veneer test and their placement are done. The veneers are placed on the front surface of the teeth by cementing. This, the final process, called cementing, is essential to be performed by a professional and quality cement, which must wash away the color of the teeth and veneers. If done expertly, the veneer remains a permanent solution.

IS THE PROCEDURE PAINFUL?

The procedure is not painful. Before grinding a tooth, the patient is usually given anesthesia to feel comfortable, and if the patient does not want local anesthesia, the procedure is done without it. The rest of the procedure is completely painless and there is no need for anesthetic.

ARE THERE ANY ADVERSE EFFECTS?

No side effects were noted. If the procedure is done professionally, the patient has a long-term aesthetic solution.

However, patients need to be aware that even after the placement of the veneer, your tooth may break or get tooth decay because the inner surface of the tooth is not treated. So, even after you have veneers installed, you will need regular dental checks.

HOW LONG THE VENEERS LAST?

The veneers are a permanent aesthetic solution, they are very durable and last an average of 10-15 years.

WHAT THE CERAMIC VENEERS CAN SOLVE?

  • They successfully solve the gap between the teeth
  • Breast Enlargement
  • Dental discolouration (tooth discoloration)
  • Turn (worn) teeth
