MICRODERMABRASION

WHAT IS MICRODERMABRASION?

Microdermabrasion is a method of removing the surface layer of the epidermis (stratum corneum) using diamond fittings. The treatment is completely painless, and it restores natural glow and radiant tone of the skin. Microdermabrasion can be applied to all skin types and is an ideal procedure that prepares the skin for other treatments. Two different types of microdermabrasion are being used:

  • the first procedure uses diamond crystals with different diameters
  • the other is with aluminium oxide crystals

WHICH INDICATIONS CAN BE TREATED?

Microdermabrasion is used to reduce enlarged pores, correct small wrinkles, mild hyperpigmentation and superficial scars. The individual treatment protocol (size of diamond head, speed and passes per region) are determined based on the indications, type and condition of the skin. We can apply the treatment on the face, neck and décolleté areas, as well as on the body (rough elbows, knees, back, as well as preparation for mesotherapy without needles on the body).

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MICRODERMOABRASION?

The treatment is non-invasive and completely painless, with no recovery period. Microdermabrasion restores radiance and radiant complexion to the skin. It gives excellent results as a method before needle-free mesotherapy because it enables deeper penetration of the preparation. It can also be a preparatory treatment for other aesthetic procedures. The results of microdermabrasion are immediately visible, and clients can immediately return to their daily activities.

HOW OFTEN & AT WHICH INTERVALS CAN MICRODERMABRASION BE DONE?

Microdermabrasion can be performed at intervals of seven days to two weeks, depending on the type and condition of the skin. If microdermabrasion is used as a preparatory treatment before needle-free mesotherapy, the treatment is repeated every two weeks. And when microdermabrasion is the only treatment that is applied, the interval between treatments can be seven days, and a series of six treatments is recommended.

IN WHICH CASES IS MICRODERMABRASION NOT THE TREATMENT OF CHOICE?

If there are inflammatory processes in the skin, we have to be extra careful in choosing a treatment. for this area. Microdermabrasion is not recommended for acne-prone skin and skin with intense rosacea, as well as for skin with fungal and bacterial infections. Also, it is not used in people who are on Isotretinoin based acne treatment, as well as in acute herpes and the presence of flattened warts on the skin.
