WHAT ARE MESO THREADS (LIFT THREADS)?
Lift threads allow to “reinforce” the skin. They can be inserted into multiple skin layers in several directions. Most importantly, the threads are made of biodegradable material, i.e. a surgical, absorbable suture. Thereby, lift threads are completely absorbed by the tissue after insertion. This process happens within 180-240 day after the treatment. The treatment leaves no visible skin defects and limitations of facial expressions.
HOW DOES LIFTING WITH THREADS WORK?
As the lift threads are slowly absorbed, new collagen is gradually formed in place of the threads. This collagen remains after the suture absorption and, so to speak, creates a new natural “thread”. The lifting effect can be seen immediately after the threads have been inserted and results can continue to improve over the following three to six months. The skin becomes visibly smoother, the sagging disappears and the treated area is restored to its natural shape.
WHAT TYPES OF MESO THREADS ARE USED?
There are several types of meso threads. Ordinary linear threads are designed for younger skin with very shallow wrinkles. Spiral threads have a stronger lifting effect, as well as cog threads that have grip wings on the thread itself, which facilitate thread placement, and provide better stimulation of collagen production.
WHICH AREAS CAN BE LIFTED?
Meso threads could be applied on the face, neck, cleavage, as well as on the body. Regarding the face, we would like to emphasize their lifting effect in the lower jaw region where the age related decline in tone is most often noticed, the region of the neck, and the skin above the knee. The treatment lasts about 45 minutes and is performed under local anesthesia. Milder bruising with quick recovery time is possible after this treatment. All other procedures in the treated area can be performed around a dozen days after.
